The story of Tessitura Toscana Telerie

Tessitura Toscana Telerie

For more than seventy years, Tessitura Toscana Telerie has been producing beautiful quality linens and home textiles. Just outside Florence, the family company creates homewares with an artistic joy that seems to leap off the fabric. They effortlessly blend contemporary charm with their deep cultural heritage of Tuscany. In this magical part of the world, art, craftsmanship and beauty have been intimately connected for centuries.

It began with a hand shake. In 1947, Italy was rising from the ashes of the second world war.  During this uncertain time, friends Fano Puliti and Vinicio Tarli joined forces to start a textile company. They decided their new enterprise would be based on quality, honesty, energy and an enterprising spirit.

In 1958, Tessitura Toscana Telerie expanded from table linens to bed linens. The founders’ daughters took charge in 1970 and in the 80’s oversaw a massive restructure to increase production flexibility. This allowed them to create exclusive private label ranges and offer their quality products to an international market.

Innovation and technological advancements thrived alongside time-honored traditions and the Italian obsession with design and details.

Founders of Tessitura Toscana Telerie

For three generations, Tessitura Toscana Telerie have excelled in producing a range of distinctive homewares. Using the highest quality French linen from Normandy, the material is woven in Italy. It is then digitally printed to create their unique range of tea towels and tablecloth fabrics.

Sustainability

Caring for the planet is at the core of Tessitura Toscana Telerie.

Starting with the best raw materials, many of their products are crafted linen or hemp, the most eco-friendly fabrics. Their team constantly monitor their suppliers for product quality and compliance with socially responsible working conditions.

Solar panels are installed on the roof of their factory and mill.  Therefore, most of their energy is generated from solar power. Changing over to LED lights also reduced their energy consumption by 50%.

When packaging is needed, they use EVA-certified CSI Recycled Plastic which is organic and biodegradable.
