About Sue McGary
Bonjour. I’m Sue McGary, founder and chief in charge of everything at French Affair.
I spent 30 years in marketing and events before France swept me off my feet. French Affair was born in 2008 and for a number of years, I managed to juggle the corporate world with my love of everything French.
But by 2019, France had completely seduced me and French Affair become my full-time obsession.
From quaint little village markets in Provence to trade shows in Paris, I love finding beautiful fabrics and tablecloths to surprise and delight you.
Tablecloths are my specialty
French Affair began importing authentic stain-resistant tablecloths direct from the artisans in Provence. As I expanded my collection, I discovered stunning European linen tablecloths in beautiful contemporary fabrics.
But I realised my customers needed more. They wanted tablecloths for extra wide tables, long tables, narrow tables, round tables, oval tables – all the forgotten “hard to buy for” tables. So, I dusted off the sewing machine I inherited from my grandmother and rekindled my love of creating things. Now, I offer custom tablecloths to fit ANY table.
My philosophy
Although the product range has evolved, my business philosophy has remained the same: to develop an ethical, sustainable business that is flexible and fun, bringing joy to you and me.
I imagine that each tablecloth will be the centerpiece for special celebrations, family get-togethers and gatherings of friends for years to come.
My grandmother would be delighted her sewing machine is used almost every day, not only to build the business I love, but to help create special memories for families around Australia.
I hope you find the perfect tablecloth here at French Affair to create your own magical moments.

A bientôt,
Sue McGary
